Applications > Extensions 
Quick Create (no legacy_chan_sip it's depreciated) 
- Use SIP [chan_pjsip] 
- 3 digit extensions. Avoid using extensions starting with 1 
- Display name = user 
- Outbound caller ID <blank>
- email address

- Voicemail 
- VM Pin is defaulted to the extension when created to force user to setup their mailbox on first use

Apply Config (Top right) after creating new extensions

Voicemail
- Require from same extension. On is more secure 
- *97 will ask password on that phones extension without prompting for a pin (if a single user office with no one else has access to, this can be left off. but if on a shop floor for example, you would want to turn it on) 
- Email address = VM to email 
- Email attachment Y/N 
- Play CID 
- Play Envelope 
- Delete Voicemail. VTG sets this to yes to prevent the phone mailbox from filling up 
- If users are not getting emails, you can disable this and do a test for troubleshooting 
- VmX Locater = IVR options for the extension
General 
Outbound CID - Blank if pbx default # 
!!!Emergency CID - Must make sure is correct E911 # 
Secret - This is used on the phone for registration 
Extensions does not equal users 
User manager settings can be left default in most cases
